Celebrating the life of
Ann Hopkins Grady
September 06, 1949 - January 22, 2017
Ann Hopkins Grady, 67, of Savannah, Georgia passed away after a brief but arduous battle with cancer late Sunday night, January 22, 2017 in the comfort of her family’s home, surrounded by her children and close friends.
Ann is survived by her three children, Ryan Grady (Amanda), Louise Taylor Culjan (Bo), and Catherine Grady. Additionally, Ann leaves her step-mother, Patricia Barry Hopkins, and her five siblings, William and Lloyd Hopkins, Stuart and Barry Evans (Kim), and Patricia Evans Newitt (Scott).
Affectionately known as “Annie B” and “Nonnie,” Ann is survived by her five beloved grand-children, Anna and Natalie Culjan, William Keck, and Emily and Andrew Grady. The last decade of Ann’s life was spent enjoying these five children, whom she adored and cherished with her whole heart.
Born and raised in Savannah, Ann was preceded in death by her parents, William L. Hopkins, Jr. and Louise Taylor Hopkins. Ann is a class of 1967 graduate of Jenkins High School in Savannah. After attending Marjorie Webster Junior College, Ann worked thirty years at her family’s chemical manufacturing company, Natrochem, Inc. She served as CEO and chairman of the board for Natrochem in the years before her death.
When Ann was not running her company and spending time with her grandchildren and grand-dog, she enjoyed traveling, taking afternoon naps, watching Judge Judy, online shopping, reading, playing word games, trivia, and Bingo with her friends. Ann was a member of the Catholic faith and generously volunteered her time as a substitute teacher for her daughter's classes at St. Vincent’s Academy.
A visitation with the family of Ann Hopkins Grady will be held from 4-6 PM at Fox & Weeks on Whitemarsh Island with a rosary service at 5 o’clock on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. The memorial service for Ann will be held at Fox & Weeks on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Ann H. Grady to St. Vincent's Academy and/or the Savannah Humane Society.

I was sad to hear about Ann. When we were young, Ann's parents and my parents were good friends, and our families spent good times together. I remember that Ann had a ready smile, and I don't remember her ever saying anything unkind about anyone. I'm sure all who knew her will miss her. Two Scriptures that have helped me are 2 Corinthians 1:3 & 4 and Acts 24:15. I hope they will help you, too. With sympathy, Gigi Ketron

I am so sorry for your loss. Your Mom was an amazing mom and friend to all of Catherines friends. She was always there for any of her children and her children's friends. She was an angel and is truly missed.

I am truly saddened to learn that you are mourning the loss of your dear love one. We all know that the sting of death is very painful, however God promise that soon death will be swallowed up forever along with the pain and sorrow it brings. ( Isaiah 25:8) As for the many that have fallen asleep in death, he promise that they will be ressurrected to life, here on earth. ( John 5:28,29; Psalms 37:29) May this hope along with the wonderful memories you have of Ann helps you to cope.

I would like to express my deepest condolences for your loss, it's never easy going through the passing of a loved one. You might take comfort in God's promise found at Revelation 21:4 which says God "will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” This scripture gave me hope when I experienced loss, I hope it can do the same for your family. May the memories you have help you endure this difficult time.
